A history that has been written since 1932

Quinta do Judeu became property of the Alves de Carvalho family in 1932 to the present day and its name is due to the existence of a roman Jewish statue on its roof.

Recently recovered, Quinta do Judeu is today a center of excellence in winemaking, combining traditional practices, such as grape treading in granite tanks (lagares), with the latest technology available for the development of extremely high quality wines.

We believe the world becomes better whenever we look for inspiration, poetry and beauty in every single detail of life. Get inspired by our wines and vineyards and marvel at the aromas, flavours and sights. Welcome to a world of inspiration! Welcome to Douro!

We cultivate the authenticity of the region

Our Estates

Quinta do Judeu owns 3 estates in Douro Valley with a total of 27 hectares of traditional and mechanized vineyards only with native Douro grape varieties.

The different locations of our estates allow us to obtain in the final blends the best Douro has to offer: the complexity and structure from the hot and dry Cima Corgo, the acidity and freshness from the humid Baixo Corgo and the high altitude of Canelas that is perfect for the white grapes.

The vineyards, with an age between 5 and 100 years old, have the most important varieties of the region, such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Francisca and Sousão among the reds and Malvasia FIna, Rabigato, Viosinho, Arinto and Cercial among the whites.

The old vines, red and white, with its diverse and mixed varieties, some of which rare and unknown, constitute an enormous Douro asset that Quinta do Judeu will maintain and share.
